| Prevent Damage to Hips and Knees | | | MrTrainer's Tip
Training moderately will not lead to damaged hips or knees in people with healthy hip and knee joints. Although "moderate" ultimately depends on your fitness experience, it usually means not jogging more than five miles, three or four times a week. If you feel soreness, pain or stiffness in the hips or knees the next day, this is an indication of overdoing exercise.
It's good idea to alternate days of high impact exercise with low impact activity such as swimming, elliptical training or bicycling. Choosing running surfaces that are easier on the joints will also help. For instance, a wooden basketball court is easier on the joints than a concrete court. Good shoes that are sport-specific are extremely important to prevent foot, knee and hip problems. Also, shock-absorbent inserts in your shoes will help to reduce jarring.

| Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders | | | Doc Talk
Epilepsy refers to a history of, or tendency towards, repeated seizures. Seizures occur when neurons in the brain are activated in abnormal or chaotic patterns. The symptoms or manifestations of this activation depend on the area of the brain activated. For instance, if the area of the brain that controls arm or leg function is activated, the patient will experience wild movement in these parts (convulsions). If an area is activated that controls vision or smell, the patient may experience visual illusions or unusual smells.
In grand mal (tonic-clonic) seizures, both hemispheres of the brain are activated; as a result, the patient experiences wild jerking of the arms and legs, facial and head movements, and loss of consciousness. It is not recommended that anything be placed in the patient's mouth to prevent him from "swallowing his tongue." This usually leads to broken teeth and bleeding. It is best to roll the patient on his side to protect the airway in the event of vomiting. Most of these seizures will resolve spontaneously within seconds to minutes. Only in rare cases does the seizure persist, requiring emergency medications.
The diagnosis is based on the typical symptoms of seizure. A brain scan may be performed, and an EEG (electroencephalogram) may detect abnormal brainwaves that are associated with seizures. Most cases of epilepsy are treated with oral medication.

| Testimonials | | | Two years ago I was an overweight, out of shape 50 year old woman. And I was depressed about it. I decided to join a health club and use the cardiovascular machines. My weight stayed stubbornly the same. Then I started your program and everything changed. I started working out 2 times a week and overnight I was hooked! The program taught me the proper technique and what NOT to do while exercising. Your knowledge and dedication made all the difference. In 6 months I lost 34 pounds and went from a size 16 to a size 10! My depression is gone and I feel like I can accomplish anything! I am in better shape than when I was 20! Thanks!"

"I'm in my mid-50's and despite regular cardiovascular exercise, I suffered from low back pain and declining strength. I decided to get into the weight room, but this time with expert guidance from MrTrainer. My self-guided attempts at strength training had all ended in boredom (doing the same things again and again, with poor results) or with injury. His expertise has eliminated that and now real gains are being made. The low back pain is history as are visits to the chiropractor. My upper body strength is greater than in my 30's and that carries over to increased motivation to exercise daily. I look forward to every workout. MrTrainer was also enormously helpful to my teenaged son. He suffered a setback in his athletic development when in the 3rd grade, a heart ailment needed surgical attention. The problem was 100% remedied, but confidence took a setback. MrTrainer corrected the problem by improving his gait and stride with running up and down the basketball court, building strength and restoring confidence, which is now 100% !"
